Scope of Work

The existing domestic hot water system at SDGH utilises steam as a primary heat source, which is still widely used across NHS sites. The Steam system at SDGH is approaching end of its operating life cycle, with much of the secondary equipment remaining from the original installation. Through early engagement with both WLTH Trust and Vinci Facilities, we were able to refine the clients requirements for the scheme and propose the installation of a new steam plate heat exchanger to replace the existing Angelery system within Plantroom 4. Our Scope of works included modifications to the existing steam and domestic water, facilitating the installation of a new Plate heat exchanger to replace the Angelery. To accompany the new equipment, a new controls system was installed and integrated into the existing BMS network. This monitoring facility ensures optimal operating conditions, reducing the need for preventative maintenance and extending the plant operating life cycle.
